Participación en un Homenaje

Para hablar inglés hay que tirar la pena por la ventana, eso siempre les digo a mis alumnos. No deben tener pena de pronunciar mal porque solo intentando las cosas es que puedes mejorarlas.

Mis coordinadores me pidieron una alumna para que leyera unas efemerides en uno de los homenajes que se realiza cada lunes en la Secretaría de Educación del Estado y he aqui a la aguerrida jovencita que con temple lo llevo a cabo, la alumna Jimena Abigail Felix, quien desempeño un excelente trabajo.

Cabe mencionar el apoyo que la niña recibe de su familia para apoyarla y animarla en sus estudios, así como en esta experiencia, la mama me contaba muy divertida que su abuelita le había pedido numerosas veces que leyera en la misa y ella le decía que le daba pena. Pues, aprovechando que Jimena acepto leer en inglés, su abuela le dijo "pues ahora sí, para que practiques, este domingo leeras algo en la iglesia" y claro que no tuvo mas remedio que ir a "practicar".

Me da mucho orgullo tener alumnas como Jimena, que estan motivadas y me da mucho gusto que este detalle haya servido para darle un gusto doble a su familia, doble por la misa y por el homenaje. :)

Ojala que más de ustedes alumnos, se animen a leer y hablar sin pena, porque como dice el título de su libro, "Yes, we can" Sí podemos!!

Ambiente: literario y ludico

Competencia especifica: interpretar cuentos y leyendas.

Hacer con el lenguaje: Explorar cuentos fantasticos, participar en lecturas guiadas,comparar semejanzas y diferencias de conductas, valores y escenarios propios, con los de los países donde se habla inglés.

Saber sobre el lenguaje: estructura de cuentos, tema , proposito, personajes, destinatario.

Ser con el lenaguaje: Reconocer los cuentos como reflejos de conductas y valores de las personas y sus culturas.

The Old Witch

There was once a little girl who was very willful and who never obeyed when her elders spoke to her - so how could she be happy? She never helps her mom in the kitchen and never cleans and orders her bedroom. She use to yell at her parents for anything, she disrespect her father and never listen to her mother. She wants everything she sees and she was always very rude.

One day she said to her parents, "I have heard so much of the old witch that I will go and see her. People say she is a wonderful old woman, and has many marvelous things in her house, and I am very curious to see them."'

But her parents forbade her going, saying, "The witch is a wicked old woman, who performs many evil actions - and if you go near her, something bad can happens to you”

The girl, however, disobeyed her parents' command and went to the witch's house. When she arrived there, the old woman asked her:

"Why are you so pale?"

"Ah," she replied, trembling all over, "I have frightened myself so with what I have just seen."

"And what did you see?" inquired the old witch.

"I saw a black man on your steps."

"That was a collier," replied she. “He’s dirty because of the coal dust.”

"Then I saw a gray man."

"That was a sportsman, he’s sweating" said the old woman.

"After him I saw a blood-red man."

"That was a butcher" replied the old woman.

"But, oh, I was most terrified," continued the girl, "When I peeped through your window, and saw not you, but a creature with a fiery head."

"Then you have seen the witch in her proper dress," said the old woman. "For you I have long waited, and now you shall give me light."

So saying the witch took her magic wand and changed the little girl into a block of wood, and then threw it on the fire. When it was fully alight, she sat down on the hearth and warmed herself, saying:

"How good I feel! The fire has not burned like this for a long time!"
